About the Network
To promote a healthier Wyoming, we’ve developed a secure, connected and coordinated statewide health IT system—the Wyoming Frontier Information (WYFI) Health Information Exchange (HIE)—that supports effective and efficient healthcare.
Through the WYFI HIE system, authorized medical care teams can share clinical information across institutions and practices, making patient information available wherever and whenever needed to provide the highest-quality care. (See examples of use cases here.)
Our ultimate goal is to connect all healthcare providers around Wyoming through one secure network, ensuring a small, rural walk-in clinic has access to the same information as a large regional hospital.
More Providers Create a Stronger Network
With participating providers in every corner of the state, our network only continues to grow—and when you join, you help make it even stronger!
The Steering Committee
Our steering committee is important in navigating and managing the HIE, with a goal of ensuring the HIE is both sustainable and meets the needs of Wyoming providers and the community.
Areas the ESC addresses include:
Legal & Policy: Monitor the consent model and policies that are used, dictated by state law and industry regulations; ensure the system is compliant; prevent any illegal or unethical conduct
Privacy & Security: Ensure WYFI has technology and policies in place to protect the privacy of patient information, and that the information is secure
Provider Relations: Maintain and develop collaborative relationships between WYFI healthcare professionals and WYFI administration
Sustainability: Oversee investment and operations needed to independently sustain WYFI
Technical: Make recommendations on the system’s operational framework in terms of efficiency, standards and industry criteria, as needed
