WYFI Direct Secure Messaging (DSM) REVIEW

As the Wyoming Frontier Information (WYFI) Health Information Exchange (HIE) is preparing to transition its Direct Secure Messaging (DSM) services to MedAllies, we want to remind you of the benefits of DSM. DSM allows healthcare providers to electronically send and receive clinical information quickly and securely to other providers. It eliminates the need to request, fax, and scan patient clinical information.

DSM Allows the following:

  • Send Clinical information protected health information (PHI) quickly and securely
  • Eliminates faxes, phone calls, and couriers
  • Improves Care Coordination
    • Referrals
    • Care Summaries
    • Discharge Instructions and Follow up

WYFI Direct Clinical Messaging is the process of exchanging secure messages using direct protocols and standards over the WYFI network. Allows providers to exchange PHU. While most EMRs usually have their own secure messaging. You can access WYFI DSM through an internet browser. You would enter a username and password and then be taken to your clinical information.

The look and functionality is very similar to most standard email accounts and from the homepage of the DSM, a provider can manage messages, contacts, and settings. You can also manage your designated users. With a clinic of a button, access to a current list of WYFI secure email addresses can be obtained, which is managed by the WYFI administrator.
