    • Contributor – Can write and manage their own posts but cannot publish
    • Author – Can publish and manage their own posts
    • Editor – Can publish and manage posts including those of other users
    • Administrator – Has full access to all WordPress features

User Roles Explained

Administrator – Full control over the website (use sparingly)

Editor – Manages all content but cannot install plugins or themes

Author – Creates and publishes their own content

Contributor – Writes content that needs approval before publishing

Subscriber – Basic access for commenting and profile management

Best Practices

  • Only assign Administrator roles to trusted individuals who need full website access
  • Use strong passwords or let WordPress generate them automatically
  • Always send new users their login information via the automatic email
  • Regularly review your user list and remove inactive accounts
  • Consider using the Editor role instead of Administrator for content managers

After Creating a User

The new user will receive an email with their login credentials and a link to set their password. They can then log in at wyfi.solutions/wp-admin using their username and password.
