WYFI Upgrade Update
The WYFI team is in the midst of an upgrade to the KPI Ninja Platform. Over the next couple of months, the WYFI team will be completing user acceptance testing to
make sure the system is functioning correctly.
We will be contacting some of our participants who are sending interface files to work on some external testing with the new KPI Ninja system.
As we approach the implementation of the upgraded system we will be reaching out to our WYFI users to offer training. We will also provide videos and other information to help users navigate the new system. A new web address for the Community Health Record (CHR) will also be sent out as we approach the go-live time frame in late August.
WYFI Query and Retrieve and EMS Functionality
The Wyoming Frontier Information (WYFI) team is reaching out to hospital facilities that we are connected with to offer the query and retrieve (QnR) functionality that is available. This process allows participants to query our system for patient records from their EHR system. The benefit of this process is that participants would not have to log out of their EHR to retrieve WYFI documents.
WYFI’s partnership with the Wyoming Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS) has a solution to satisfy the requirements for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) agencies to provide the prehospital patient care report (PCR) to a receiving hospital. Wyoming’s ambulance agencies currently send the PCRs to the receiving hospital with a wide variety of processes. Utilizing the WYFI to send the PCR from the Wyoming Ambulance Trip Reporting System (WATRS) to the receiving hospital may potentially save crews and hospitals time and effort.
By utilizing the WYFI option to receive electronic trip reports, the hospital will automatically receive the trip report from the EMS agency via WATRS. The hospital would work with WYFI and their EHR vendor to ensure their system can receive the trip reports from WYFI. A technical call can take place to go over the requirements
